History: Pittsburgh's entry in the short-lived Federal League began the season known as the "Stogies" but changed their nickname to the "Rebels" when player-manager Rebel Oakes took over the club midway through the year. History: This Hawaiian barnstorming team toured the mainland from 1912-1916, taking on college teams, black clubs, and semi-pro teams. The idea that the players attended the Chinese University Of Hawaii was a fiction created by the promotors, but the first Hawaiian club consisted of players of Chinese ancestry. Later squads also included native Hawaiian and other ethnicities.
